Young will be rocking in late July when the bi-annual Cherry Jam concert will showcase the talented and gifted students from Public schools across the Hilltops region.

“Cherry Jam is an entertainment extravaganza involving all of the public schools in the Young District,” organiser and Murringo Public School principal Kaelene Neville said.
During the event each of the local public schools will be presenting four items at the concert with something for everybody from dance, marimba, aerobics, choirs and various bands.
”The highlight of the concert though, in more ways than one, are the combined items, where students from all of the different schools get together to share their musical skills,” Ms Neville said.
“There will be a combined drum corps from the primary schools, a combined indigenous dance group and the finale.”
All schools will be represented in the stage band, rock band, choir, marimbas, soloists, drums and dancers during the performance finale.
Rehearsals for the finale are already underway with the item months in the making with arrangements that have been put together by talented teachers at the schools along with the help and talent of Young Regional School of Music’s Mark Corkery.
“You don’t want to miss out on this amazing event,” Ms Neville said.
Cherry Jam 2017 will be on July 26 and 27 at the Young North Public School Hall from 6.30 pm.
