However, some of Young’s coffee houses are making a switch and asking customers to bring their own cups.
Art of Espresso Barista Luke Bognar said the best way to start a movement is one action at a time.
“We have had up to a dozen customers a day bringing in their own cups,” he said.
“That number varies each day, but as this catches on we expect more to do it which is a good thing, it’s saving the environment slowly.”
Fellow Barista Kristy Rendal said the initiative was started by the cafe, but customers have embraced the idea.
“A lot of people have started to come in with their own cups, and it means they don’t have to throw that cup away, of course, less rubbish in bins is better for everyone.”
