The monthly medal round on Saturday was won by Tania Baldwin for the women with a nett 68. In the men’s competition, it was a tie on nett 71 for both Mick McDonell and Graeme Bell. Applying half their handicaps to the back nine gave the win, on count-back, to Graeme Bell by half a shot.

Gobbles to Tania on the ninth and Mick on the sixteenth. Birdies to Tania on five and nine, Mick on sixteen and Graeme on seventeen. Sunday’s final for the south west small club matchplay pennant, contested at Boorowa, went to Boorowa five-zip over Bigga. Clover Leigh scooped the wooden spoon trophy with a loss 1-4 to Binalong.
The Stableford competition, a great individual score to Tim Good of Boorowa on the day with 44 points, contributing to Boorowa’s winning total point score over four Sundays of 125 points. Binalong amounted 63 points, Bigga 61 and Clover Leigh 21.
Shot of the day was executed by Chris Bale of Bigga on the eleventh when playing from the creek running down the middle of the course. Chris stepped into the creek to play his ball that had settled on top of the ice covering the creek surface, still frozen at noon. Thanks to all clubs for their efforts hosting each event, memorable in 2017 for excellent winter golfing weather all round.
