In cool, overcast conditions Kate Cooper represented her club at the Champion Of Champion Club Singles Play off and gave the game her all. Kate found herself up against Kim Suckley from Dapto and the game was on. Margo Parker, Kate’s Manager, said Kate got off to a flying start and went out to a 13 to 1 lead but once Suckley settled down she took control of the game. Cooper was able to hang in there and played some great draw shots for a very competitive game but after a long tussle Kim Suckley won 25 to 16.
Congratulations to Kate for representing Young WBC at that level. There were players from all over the state and some of them play at the highest level in Bowls, representing Australia. Kate said it was a fantastic opportunity to be there and she really enjoyed the experience.
West Wyalong will be a very busy Bowling Club next Tuesday and Wednesday as they are hosting the Regional Pairs and Singles Play off. Representing Young and the South west District will be Margaret Glasheen and Judith Mulligan along with Elsie Hines and Margo Parker in the Pairs and Elsie Hines in the Singles. Good luck to all.
