Auxiliary president Janice Ward said members have been very busy over the last month.
“We have been selling tickets for our Soup Day raffle which has several lovely prizes. We’ve also been helping sell Wood raffle tickets with the Masons, as we benefit from some of the proceeds,” she said.
“Our Soup day should be an enjoyable day, with people being able to choose their favourite soup, breads and then finish off with coffee or tea and slice. It’s a great opportunity to relax and catch up with friends, while supporting the Hospital.
“We continue to purchase items from the very generous donation made by St John’s. The latest is an ultrasound bed for $6,521, scales for the Dietician which cost $375, which can weigh accurately, to weights not on ordinary scales.
“These will be very helpful for people trying to keep track of their weight loss.”
Mrs Ward said the Auxiliary were thrilled to receive the $6,967 cheque from the Lions to purchase the second trauma bed.
“How lucky we are to be supported by such generous and hard-working groups,” she said.
“We have also found out a lot about the Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) through guest speaker Heather Ritchie.
“Our annual meeting will be held on August 10 at 10.30 in the Hospital Meeting Room. If you have been thinking about joining the Auxiliary, why not come along.”
