According to Hilltops Council Administrator Wendy Tuckerman they are in the process of expanding the committees responsible for Australia Day celebrations in Young and Harden and are interested in hearing from residents who would like to be involved in organising what is an important day locally.
Mrs Tuckerman believes that the day is another chance for the community to showcase all that is on offer in the Hilltops to visitors and those keen to travel to the region.
There will be a minimum of three community members who will be chosen for each committee in Young and Harden.
“As well as helping to arrange Australia Day celebrations, members of the committee will also be responsible for helping select the Australia Day award recipients; a vitally important task ensuring we recognise the contribution members of the public have made to their communities,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
Those interested in being considered for membership can collect and complete froms at Council’s administration offices in Harden or Young or on the Hilltops Council website at www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au.
Submissions are required by midday Thursday, July 27.
