The redevelopment will see the single oval ground revamped into a two oval facility with major improvements to the dressing sheds, toilets and storage facilities. The cricket pitch will remain as is but will now lie between the two ovals and not form part of the playing surface. This will surely save many layers of skin lost over the season.
The last game of senior rugby for the 2017 season will be a Supporter’s Day at Cranfield and the last opportunity to watch the teams run north/south before the change to east/west.
The day will commence with the under 18s at 12.15pm followed by second grade at 1.30pm and first grade at 3.00pm. It is also planned to have the junior Yabbies show case their skills during the intervals on the day.
With the season drawing to a close what better way to show your support for the gutsy performances of the boys this year than to get along to Cranfield and cheer the Yabbies as they take on the Hall Bushrangers.
Also, as part of the redevelopment, Young Rugby Club has offered to take down the oval fence. A working bee is scheduled for Sunday, July 30 to complete it in a day. Equipment to assist with the task has been organised but we need many helpers so if you can spare some time please join us on the Sunday. A BBQ lunch and drinks will be provided.
