Group Nine operations manager Peter Ryan revealed he wouldn’t be continuing in the role beyond the season.
In a blow to the smooth and seamless administrative function of Group Nine, Ryan said he would be resigning the position at the annual general meeting in October.
“This is going to be my last year,” Ryan said. “I’ve had enough...I’m out.”
Taking over on a full-time basis when long serving Warren Barclay stepped aside, Ryan has been in the critical leadership job for three years.
“I will see out the term,” he said. “I won’t leave beforehand.”
The loss of Ryan’s acumen will be a body blow to Group Nine but he intends to retain is close ties to Southcity and will not be entriely lost to the sport.
“I’ll talk to Southcity about what I might be able to do,” he said. “I suppose I could look at secretary or something else.”
