Young Yabbies Rugby Union’s Hudson was presented with the HS Quinn trophy for services to rugby during the presentation dinner at the Rex Hotel in Canberra.

The trophy was established in 1999 in honour of the late Hilary Sidney Quinn who was a life member of ACT Rugby Union with the award handed out annually in recognition of distinguished service to the game of rugby.

As one of three candidates nominated, Hudson won the award based on his long service to the Young Yabbies Club.

Hudson started playing rugby in 1983 and joined the Young club in 1993 after being transferred here for work and even this season still turned out each week for second grade.

'Huddo' has served on the committee since 1993 holding various positions including president, treasurer, recruitment manager and coach.

“He is affectionately known as Mr. Rugby in Young and is a worthy winner of this prestigious award,” Young Yabbies Cec Finley said of Hudson.

Young's Tom Wills was also a finalist nominee for the Anderson Trophy for Sportsmanship. 

“Although not the eventual winner, Tom can be justifiably proud of his nomination,” Finley said.
