During the meeting it was proposed and voted on that the Young, Temora, Cootamundra and Ariah Park competitions merge for the Under 16s with all clubs voting to move forward with the idea.
The decision has been welcomed with clubs minimising travel between the furthest towns within the new competition by playing at grounds like Wallendbeen and Stockinbingal.

According to the Junior Cricket Facebook page the competition will remain 25 overs and with the increased number of teams the kids will have much better competition and better prepare the players for representative and senior cricket in the years ahead.
Online registrations for the 2017/2018 season are now open as the draws will be done up in early September.
