New bus shelters will be constructed at Murringo Public School, Rye Park Public School, Bribbaree Public School and Maimuru Public School after the Hilltops Council was successful in securing NSW State Government funding.

General Manager Anthony McMahon said Council also received funding to upgrade bus areas at a further 11 schools.
“With Term 3 of the school year well underway, school bus safety is front of mind for teachers, parents and students,” he said.
“Ensuring school children have appropriate areas to get off the bus in the morning, and back on at the end of the day is a big part of making sure school bus drop-off and collection zones are safe for students.”
Mr McMahon said the $82,000 funding was awarded by Transport for NSW under the Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme.
“As part of the grant funding a further 11 schools will benefit from the provision of ‘hard-stand’ zones, designed to ensure the areas where students get on and off the bus, are accessible,” he said.
