There was a long list to cover on the agenda: the Department of Fair Trade had updated its model constitution so it was an appropriate time for the MCA to review their’s.
After some discussion the group voted on the 19 special resolutions and now wait to hear from Fair Trading.
Of course, the usual elections were held with a very special guest to undertake the election process in Anthony McMahon the acting General Manager of Hilltops Council.
Mr McMahon was there for a secret reason which had been as there was a Life Membership to be nominated and voted on and until that point the recipient Carol Hewson was unaware that this was even going to happen.
“Carol is a very dedicated member, she is a quiet achiever and Carol is very giving of her time and help whenever needed, she is a quiet achiever,” Neil Gow said.
“Carol has been involved with the association since she moved here in the late 1970’s, she has been an integral part of the committee for many years,” Tricia Mack said.
The newly elected positions for the next year are:
President – Tricia Mack,
Vice-president – Leah Coggan,
Secretary – Gina Galvin,
Treasurer – Carol Hewson,
Ordinary committee members –
Heather Ritchie, Marg Gillespie, Maureen Virgo, Leah Coggan.
