After qualifying at NSW Country Championships the four girls from Robertson’s Gymnastics Club traveled to the Sydney Aquatic and Gymnastics Centre in Rooty Hill on the September 9 to compete their Level 4 routines in the 2017 NSW State Gymnastics Championships.
With clubs from all around the state and over 500 gymnasts competing over the weekend, this was the biggest event these girls had ever attended.
All girls performed magnificently with some very high scoring routines to place 6th in the team results, with the girls all earning a silver medal for their performance on the night.
There were some standout performances including Jesse Cummings who received a 9.50 on vault, Grace Taylor received a 9.05 on vault.
Sarah McDonald did a beautiful floor routine to receive a 9.05 and Rachel Dorman competed a solid bar routine to receive a 8.925.
Coach Michael Robertson was impressed with their performance on the day and with some significant improvements in their scores over the last two months.
“This can be directly attributed to the work put in weekly at gymnastics,” Robertson said.
The final event for these girls for this year will be the Central West Regional Championships held in Orange in October.
