Last Thursday Cootamundra Country Club Women’s Bowling Club held their annual President’s Day. Over 30 Bowlers turned out from clubs across the region. Starting with the Spider, everyone enjoyed the morning followed by a lovely lunch. President Jan Slavin welcomed the new South Western District President Robyn Apps. Winners on the day were a team from Cootamundra Country Club.

Last Tuesday Boorowa Ex Services Club WBC hosted Veterans Day. There were eight Ladies from Young and three from Grenfell who were eligible. The award is for being a member or playing bowls at age 70, 75 and 85. From next year Badges will be awarded to bowlers who have had a continuous membership of 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 years. It will be called a Membership Badge. South Western District President Robyn Apps along with the other members of her team, Joan Clarke and Judith Mulligan won the Bowls although only 12 ends were played before everyone was called in for lunch. Runner-up was a team from Young – Robyn Tierney, Heather Bailey and Mary Bennett.
