The event was completed at the Young Bowling Club with the winners from each of the zone’s six districts eligible to compete.
Two close–fought games were played on Saturday afternoon in very windy conditions.
In one game Damien Miller played Brett White (Wagga). In this game the score was level on eight occasions and the margin never more than four shots with Damien prevailing 31–29.
In the other game Brian Johnstone (Southern Slopes) and Peter Forck (Albury District) needed 43 ends to complete their game with Brian winning 31–29.
On Sunday morning John Leech (Riverina) dominated the second half of his game against Brian Johnstone to win 31–19 after the scores had been level at 16–all.
Damien Miller moved into the final when he received a forfeit from Dan Thomas (Southern Highlands).
The final saw a fairly even start with Damien leading John 8–7 after 10 ends.
From that point Damien dominated the scoring and went on to win the game 31–18.
Congratulations Damien on a very strong performance and good luck in the State Finals in November.
