“With attendees figures down last year due to inclement weather this year is shaping up to be a stand out year,” Bribbaree Show Society secretary Reece Hanigan said.
The new all-purpose pavilion will be officially opened by former Hilltops Council administrator at 11 am on Saturday.
“The new Pavilion, constructed from monies awarded under the Hilltops Council 2016 Stronger Communities Funding - Community Grants Program, replaces the original Luncheon Pavilion come Produce Pavilion,” Reece said.
The official opening of the 91st Bribbaree Show will be at 2pm with The Land’s Royal Showgirl Runner-up Emma Gorman from Wagga Wagga.
There will be the usual attractions such as side show alley but there will also be boys and girls running races, the Kentucky Animal Farm and a lolly scramble, as well as a Tug-O-War and the Farmer’s Challenge.
“The Junior Pavilion attracts a growing number of exhibits and is once again sponsored by Quayle Milling,” Reece said.
“There will be “little” People of the Show, Miss Teen, Junior Show Person and Lady and Gentleman of the Show.
“The Poultry Pavilion is sponsored by TandD’s Produce while the Sheep Exhibits are competing for prizes donated by South West Slopes Sheep Breeders Inc. and Kevin Miller Whitty Lennon and Co.”
According to the Bribbaree Show Society with sponsorship from organisations such as Young Services Club and Town Hall Newsagency they can continue to offer very generous prize money in the Main Pavilion classes for cooking, horticulture, handicraft and jams and preserves.
The produce pavilion classes include exhibits of wool, farm and garden produce.
The Yard Dog trials have new permanent sheep holding pens constructed in 2016 by Scott Epplestun, from funds donated by the Bribbaree Fishing Club.
There will be Team Yarding and an expanded Show Jumping program to include a Junior and Open 6-Bar competition sponsored by Carruthers Machinery with a total prize pool of $1,000.
The Horse ring events now tie-in with a “local show circuit” of similar events.
Additional attractions and displays will include vintage machinery, modified tractors, motor bikes, trucks, boats, caravans and farm machinery.
Breakfast will be available from 8.30am at the Bribbaree P and C canteen.
An all-day barbecue next to the Publican’s Booth will be operating from 10.00am.
There will be coffee and ice cream vendors at the showground on the day.
