Miss Nicolls said she was “very proud” to be graduating with a double degree when she received a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University at a ceremony held at Parliament House on September 27.
During her studies Miss Nicolls spent a month at Michigan State University as part of her law degree.
Miss Nicolls is now working in government but plans to start her graduate diploma in Legal Practice and eventually work in the legal field.
Former Young resident Megan Durham made the move to Canberra in 2013 to undertake a Bachelor of Education at the University.
“I’ve always loved children and have for a long time wanted to work with them,” Ms Durham said.
“I like the idea of helping them grow into wonderful people in society.”
Ms Durham said she would like to return home to Young to teach in the future.
