In 2007 Cassie started her Guide journey making her ‘promise’ as a seven-year-old with the Golden Cherry Junior Guide Unit in Young. Now, 10 years later under the leadership of Pauline Davidson and Jennifer Smith, Cassie has completed the top award for young Girl Guides country wide.
“The Queen’s Award provides girls with an opportunity for extraordinary personal development and greater self-awareness, and is a well-respected award in the community that challenges the recipient in many different ways.” Cassie’s mother Liz said.
The Award was presented to Cassie by His Excellency General, The Honourable David Hurley, Governor of NSW at Government House in Sydney recently.
During her completion of the award Cassie helped local charities and community organisations in Young as well as attained her Cert III in canoeing and took part in many community events.
