That was the question Marie Inwood was faced with when her mother-in-law Betty Inwood celebrated her 90th recently before hitting upon the idea of buying her a joy flight.
She then contacted local pilot John Hobson who was only to happy to accommodate with a one hour flight over Young and district.
“Betty had never flown before,” John said after taking her and husband Terry on the one hour flight which covered Young and went out as far as Iandra Castle.
Cruising at 120 knots or more than 200km per hour Betty thought Iandra looked like an English castle from the air.
Marie purchased the one hour flight in John’s four seater Cesna 172, on behalf of herself and her grandchildren.
Betty had never flown before but had always wanted to fly, prompting Marie to come up with the idea of the joy flight as a gift for this special birthday girl.
