On Sunday afternoon they defeated Russell Boyd (substitute), Peter Slater, Les Fanning and Ged Hardman 19–17 in a very close–fought contest.
Both teams enjoyed small blocks of winning ends but neither was able to gain a decisive break.
The highest score on any end was four shots and for 12 of the 21 ends just one shot was scored.
With Ged’s team leading 17–13 after 18 ends they appeared to have a small advantage but Brian’s team levelled at 17–all on the twentieth end and gained two shots on the final end to win the contest.
In Saturday’s semi–final Ged’s team trailed Brian March, Phil Taylor, Albert Carter, and Colin Stokell 9–13 after 10 ends but won seven of the final 11 ends to win 22–18.
Brian’s team had a very convincing 24-10 win over Colin Parker, Joe Bargwanna, Tom Preston and Cliff Traynor in their semi–final and controlled the game throughout.
