The Rural Mindfulness Workshop will be held at The Yoga Trees studio in the Millard Centre on Thursday October 19 from 12-2pm. The cost of the class is $25.
As a Wellbeing Practitioner and Dru Yoga and Mindful Meditation Teacher, Narelle brings a wealth of experience to the Active Farmers network, with the aim of improving mental health in regional areas.
Narelle has been working in the wellbeing industry and living on a farm for 25-years, and hopes her workshop will be a positive and valuable experience for those that attend.
The workshop will focus on mindfulness involving stress relief, relaxation and sleep improvement techniques.
“I encourage anyone to give the workshop a go. There are so many different challenges that we all face day to day, and taking time out to explore ways to design coping strategies, or just to relax, is well worth it,” Narelle said.
Active Farmers is a service that ultimately aims to improve mental health in regional areas.
Originally the service was centred around group fitness however, Active Farmers has since broadened its focus and now have a range of services including nutrition, financial consultancy and mindfulness. Active Farmers groups fitness classes currently operate in several nearby towns to Young such as Grenfell, Quandialla and Jugiong.
Active Farmers General Manager, Ginny Stevens, said she is excited to be able to offer Narelle’s expertise through the workshops, under the Active Farmers banner.
“There are so many factors that contribute to positive mental health, and we hope that these workshops will be a step in the right direction for farmers and community members,” Mrs Stevens said.
