FRNSW Commissioner, Paul Baxter QSO, said the 2017 Life First campaign has been designed to attract a diverse range of applicants from all industries and fields not just what people imagine is a firefighter.
“We need people with problem solving abilities, who enjoy team work, are resilient, have good judgement and are motivated,” he said.
The commissioner said by creating a broader view of what and who a firefighter is more skills, capability and talent will be attracted to join fire and emergency services.
“Firefighters help anyone, anywhere, anytime. They respond to any emergency and are also passionate about safety, education and prevention.”
