In court Mr Talimalie’s representatives applied for bail claiming the case against him was weak and that he was acting in self-defence.
"He jumped up and down on his head like a trampoline while he lay unconscious,” the Prosecution said.
“It's almost laughable to think that constitutes self defence."
Magistrate Michael O’Brien refused bail to the 23-year-old.
Mr Talimalie has been behind bars since his arrest on Wednesday, October 12..
Mr Talimalie, 18-year-old Anzac Leavai and a 16-year-old male were all arrested last week after police claim they were involved in the assault of a local man and a brawl that occurred at the intersection of Main and Boorowa Streets in Young about 11.30pm on the Sunday night of the long weekend.
