Race 1: Canberra pacer Maybe She’s Perfect is close to a win and is ideally drawn from gate two. Polemarker Crusty is an honest performer who rarely runs a bad race and should be close handy. Billy Braveheart and Cyclone Charlie are from a very strong stable and should be in the firing line when it matters most.

Race 2: Shane Hillier has Keep Quiet engaged here from gate five and looks the winner. Hardest to beat include Mah Koo Loo Hambo for Amanda Turnbull, Mickilla Express for Mark Hewitt, a pacer with above average ability, and the consistent Lorenzo Shannon for Peter Bullock and McKayler Barnes. Lorenzo Shannon has a good gate and should be the pacemaker over the 2100 metre journey.

Race 3: The second feature race of the night, again carrying $10,000 in total prize money has attracted a very strong field with the Brad Hewitt trained pacer Sky Diamond looking a short priced favourite from gate three. A winner of consecutive races at Canberra in fast times, the New Zealand import looks the one to beat. Polemarker Doc Hosen Berry has won his last two starts and is racing in top form at the moment. Ring The Till has the services of Steve Turnbull and could sneak into a place from an awkward gate while Our Canasta and Lockton Luck, although drawn badle could be running on at the right end.

Race 4: Shane Hillier again has a top chance in the race with Chip Ganassi, a winner of its last two starts, in form driver Mitchell Reece will be in charge and certainly will start a short priced favourite. Dangers include Tutu Bene Lombo for John O’Shea with Lucy Lamb and Holy Camp Clive the other main chances in what should be a great race.

Race 5: This looks one of the harder races of the night with numerous chances. Luck in racing will play a major part, Arcachon, to be driven by Amanda Turnbull has the form on the board to be competitive while Ponte Milvio and Turbo Bromac who has the services of Nic Dewar could spoil the party at lucrative odds. 

Race 6: Blake Jones has been handed the driving duties behind Onthestraightenarrow. A winner of its last three starts, the draw may be the deciding factor but winning form is good form and the writing is on the wall. Replaced Eye, a last start winner, is a tough campaigner and although from a back mark will be running on. Polemarker Son Of A Virgin for Mark Hewitt has been knocking on the door and is drawn well.

Race 7: Last start Canberra winner Midnight In Vagas was able to dictate the speed at her last outing and has a harder draw here, but if able to cross from gate four, may replicate that win. This race is over the longer 2100 metre and will certainly separate the wheat from the chaff as they say. In a race of value, the other chances include Hardliner, Ticket Outa Here, Alisons Jet and Siotada.

Race 8: The final race of the night should see Grenfell trainer Mark Hewitt take home the bacon with Bobby Street. A last start impressive winner, the second line inside draw should not worry the inform pacer who has collected prize money twice since resuming from a spell. Best of the rest include last start winner Trunkey Tash, Littlke Archie and Penn y Writer for John O’Shea. Prettycompact struck trouble at Canberra last week finishing fourth and will be improved by the run.
