Jacob Lucas smashed the Cherry Chase five kilometre race record by a whopping five seconds on Sunday finishing with a time of 19.03.

Scott Brackenridge finished close behind Lucas, running a 20.29 to finish second and Scott Gurney placed third with a fast 20.50.
Lucas said he was pleased with the time given that he did not train for the race.
“It was a tough course, it was a fast race, but I feel pretty good about the win,” he said.
“It was a hilly course and I did no training at all for the race.
“I don't know if I will back up next year, maybe I’ll have to train a bit because with no training it was a tough race.”
Event spokesman Ben Cooper said Lucas ran a great race.
“Jacob has done a very good job today,” he said.
Annabel Turner was the first female across the line in the five-kilometre race with a speedy 23.13, Turner placed ninth overall in the race and said it felt good to cross the finish line.
“I feel pretty good about the race because as Jacob said it was a very tough course,” she said.
Nathan Wells won the 10-kilometre event with a quick time of 39.51.
Saxon Southwell finished second with a time of 42.16 and Anthony Sleeman was not far behind finishing with a respectable 43.13 for third place.
The first female across the line in the 10 kilometre with a time of 44.57 was Ellie Silk which gave her sixth position overall.
The event had competitors from primary school age to retirees with the oldest competitor 79 years of age.
Mr Cooper said the event showcased Young’s community spirit.
"Sunday displayed Young's true community spirit,” he said.
“People of all ages and from diverse backgrounds came together for a great community event.
“A huge thanks goes to all runners, walkers, sponsors and volunteers for allowing this event to be a huge success. We cannot wait to build on this success in 2018 and continue to raise funds for our local community.”
