StemGuard protection helmets have been delivered to local clubs, promoting safety in the sport.
The program exists to ensure all junior cricket clubs in Young have access to the latest safety equipment and continue to encourage the youth of NSW and budding sports players to safely lead an active lifestyle.
The helmets with the StemGuard clip-on attachment that provides additional protection for a batman’s vulnerable neck have been issued to Young Junior Cricket Association, Harden District Junior Cricket Club, Cootamundra District Junior Cricket Association and Boorowa Cricket Club.
Young McDonald’s Licensee Chris Harrison said safety is important in all sport, but especially within the junior ranks.
“Ensuring the safety of our local teams is of the utmost importance," he said. "We are proud to be providing the local clubs with more helmets, encouraging more young Aussies to lead an active lifestyle through sport.”
CEO of Cricket NSW Andrew Jones said they are committed to making junior cricket safer.
“Cricket is a sport for everyone and we are committed to making the game enjoyable and safe for every team taking to the field this season," he said.
