After a massive season on the footy pitch playing for the Cherrypickers, seven local boys will strap on the boots again to play for the Riverina Bulls preliminary squads.

Blake Coombes, Ethan Newham, Steven Anderson, Harry Fitzpatrick, Thomas Mcillhatton, Steven Anderson, Will Hills and Tom Jenkins have been picked to join the Under 18s Riverina Bulls squad while Blake Coombes, Ethan Newham, Harry Fitzpatrick and Thomas McIllhatton have been selected to play for the Under 16s Riverina Bulls squad.
As an extra cherry on top Fitzpatrick and Newham have also been selected to run on the field for the Preliminary Canberra Raiders Under 16s Harold Matthews squad.
They will have a trial in Goulburn on December 8 against the Illawarra Steelers where the squad will be cut to the final team.
“The boys have been training hard with their squads including a big weekend at the Australian Institute of Sport last weekend,” Young Junior Rugby League president Ben Mott said.
“The Junior Pickers are very proud of their achievements and wish them the very best.”
Mott wished the boys well and said all of them deserve the opportunity and have worked hard to achieve their goals.
As another boost for the local talent on the field Mackenzie Brownlie and Ash Carroll from the Junior League Tag Pickers were both selected in the Canberra Raiders Under 18s Girls Tackle squad as well.
“We're very proud of their achievements too,” Mott said.
