Ballinaclash orchard’s Cath and Ned Mullany said the rain hasn’t hampered visitors to the region for the cherry season and the cherries aren’t the only fruits to look like having a bumper harvest with other stone fruits in the area unaffected by the recent downfalls.
Mrs Mullany said over the last weekend they still received hundreds of visitors to the orchard not only from out of town but many locals stopping by to pick up fruit and many of the other goodies the orchard produces.
Ned has said that though there has been some damage to the cherry crop the fruit is still of the highest quality and there are still plenty of cherries to be picked.
Despite the rain the cherry season appears to still be reaching its peak with many visitors continuing to visit the region by the bus load and plenty of cherry products available for purchase from all local orchards around Young. To see all the attractions on offer go to www.visithilltops.com.au.
