Miss Watterson has already studied First Aid and Early Childhood Education and Care at the Young TAFE but she has decided to undertake a Certificate three in Beauty Services.
"I just want to learn more," she said.
"After leaving school, I came to TAFE to do more study and my employment in childcare formed a big part of why I was here.
"Now I am looking for different employment, so I have decided to study beauty."
Miss Watterson says studying at TAFE is a good idea.
"This campus at Young is a brilliant campus," she said.
"Everyone here is so helpful and there is so much to learn by studying in the way they teach here, it is a perfect combination of practical and theory lessons."
TAFE First Aid teacher Kim Shoard has 18 years teaching experience and said the Young TAFE offers a great career pathway for students.
"TAFE NSW offers more than 1000 courses and we have a direct connection to employers," she said.
"All of our teachers have practical skills that can be transferred easily to a teaching environment.
"The Young Campus is a new facility so we offer the latest technology for our students to learn with within many of our courses."
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said Young TAFE offers great facilities and great teachers.
"The $10m upgrade has seen a strong rise in enrolment numbers and is providing new and exciting opportunities for students to improve existing skills and learn new ones,” she said.
“That is why I'm so excited to hear that students like Amy can enrol here and develop their careers.
"Part of the $10m investment went towards equipment upgrades in the hairdressing salon which means Amy will be ready to seek employment confident that she is ready to impress on her first day.”
Ms Cooke said TAFE Young has top notch educators that are keen to impart their vast practical knowledge.
"Kim is one of the reasons why Young TAFE is such a great learning environment,” she said. “She is a great communicator who can share her knowledge so effectively, and it's thanks to Kim and her colleagues that the TAFE Young Campus is such a vibrant and exciting place to learn and grow."
