Police are investigating the cause of a fatal car crash near Cootamundra last Friday morning.

Police say a vehicle was travelling on Muttama Road, Muttama, when it left the road and hit a tree at about 12.15am on Friday, February 23.
According to police after the impact with the tree, the car caught fire.
The Rural Fire Service were called out to a car on fire and police attended to find the vehicle totally alight.
The driver and sole occupant, Young Harness Racing driver Nic Dewar, died at the scene.
Investigations are continuing with an examination of the scene, and the body has not been identified.
Muttama Road was closed while investigations into the crash took place. The road reopened about 9am today.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
