Decorated Window Displays
Young business houses are invited to decorate their shopfronts to help set the scene for the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival on Saturday March 24. With this year’s decision to hold the afternoon session in Boorowa Street between Main and Clarke Streets, there are expected to be bigger crowds in the CBD and opportunities for everyone to take part.
Easter Concert
Hilltops Choir presents an Easter Extravaganza Concert featuring soloist Julie O’Connor on Sunday March 18, with songs from Handel’s Messiah and other Easter favourites, conductor Rodney Clancy, accompanist Stewart Bruce. Venue is St John’s Anglican Church Cloete Street, Young from 3pm.
Truck and Tractor Show
Harden’s Annual Truck & Tractor Show on Sunday March 18 will feature all manner of classic trucks, tractors, working trucks, buses, fire engines, military vehicles, stationary engines and classic cars. This year there’s a special focus on Bedford trucks and International tractors.
Tanzania
Boorowa Rotary Club will hold their Annual International Night on March 17 with Tanzania the focus this year. Those interested should contact Sina on 6385 25 to secure their place.
Festival Art
The Lambing Flat Chinese Festival 10th Annual Lambing Flat Sculpture Wood and Big Art Exhibition officially opens next Wednesday March 21 with everyone invited to the event. The exhibition, organised by Young Society of Artists, will be open over the following four days at Young Town Hall.
Celebrating our Stories
Just one day out from the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival Young Library will feature “Yarns and Poems from a Master Storyteller”.
The Friday March 23 event features Ted Webber who will bring to light some distinctive Australian stories in prose and rhyme.
Mad Hatters Tea Party- Postponed
The Mad Hatters Tea Party at Bribbaree Hall has been postponed from this Saturday until late next month. Organisers apologise for the date change to April 28, but trust in continued community support.
