A local man facing three drug supply charges has had his matter adjourned to Young Local Court in September.
Allan Wayne Schodde of Young - who’s also facing separate charges in district court - was mentioned in the local court yesterday.
The 33-year-old has been charged with three counts of supply/knowingly take part in the supply of a prohibited drug.
Magistrate Peter Dare adjourned the matter to Young Local Court on September 8 and ordered the police to serve a brief of evidence on Schodde.
He also formally refused bail.
Police issue scam warning
YOUNG Police have issued an alert after one resident in the region fell prey to a romantic scheme.
Cootamundra Local Area Command crime manager Detective Inspector Paul Huxtable said the scam invloved a woman befriending a man and steering the conversation in an intimate direction before asking the mane to send sexually explicit videos.
“Once sent, an extortion message is sent demanding a large payment, otherwise the video will be published on the internet,” Inspector Huxtable said.
Spate of weekend DUIs
A 31-year-old Young man is set to appear in Young Local Court after being charged with driving with a Low Range Prescribed Content of Alcohol (PCA) in his system.
The man was stopped in Orchard Street by police at 10.44pm on Friday.
Another local man, aged 59, is also to appear in Young Local Court after he was stopped for a ramdom breath test around 1.38am on Sunday.
The man was stopped for a random breath test in Pitstone Road and a later breath analysis placed him in the mid-range PCA.
And a 36-year-old South Australian shearer working in the Caragabal area, who was pulled over at 8.10pm on Saturday, is now to face Grenfell Local Court.
After recording a positive roadside test the man was conveyed to Grenfell Police Station and a breath analysis showed a PCA of 0.236.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended.
