
Unlicensed driver disqualified
A local man who allowed his driver’s licence to expire 12 years ago, has been caught unlicensed and with alcohol in his system.
Kevin Newlyn of Nasmyth Street, Young pleaded guilty in Young Local Court on March 8 to never licensed person drive vehicle on road and driving with a mid-range PCA.
Highway patrol police breath tested the 48-year-old in Nasmyth Street about 11.05pm on New Year’s Eve, later returning a reading of 0.129.
Checks revealed Newlyn had been disqualified from driving in 2003 for 15 months and didn’t renew his licence.
He was fined a total of $300 and disqualified for nine months.
