A 55-year-old motorcyclist is off the road for nine months after he attempted to turn a corner with his pet dog sitting on the petrol tank and 0.180 grams of alcohol in his system.
Joseph Hennock of Wombat Street, Young pleaded guilty in Young Local Court on April 19 to driving with a high range PCA - second offence.
According to the facts, the labourer attempted to turn into Sawpit Gully from Pittstone Road, about 10.40pm on December 9 last year, when his dog moved and he lost control of the bike, crashing into the gravel.
A passer-by found Hennock pinned under the bike and called police.
He was fined $500, disqualified from driving for nine months and will now have a mandatory interlock device fitted to his vehicle for 48 months.
