In very heavy rain, a white Toyota Prado travelling north collided in a head-on accident with a grey Jaguar moving in the opposite direction approximately 1.7km south of Chews Lane.
The impact caused the driver’s side front wheel of the Prado to completely dislodge off the axle, colliding with the windscreen of the Jaguar.
One lane was closed for emergency services as the driver of the Jaguar was trapped in the vehicle for a short time.
The lane reopened a soon after the driver was freed from the vehicle.
The Prado driver suffered a minor fracture of the tibia, one of the four passengers in the Prado also suffered a suspected fractured patella.
While a number were taken to hospital, the two occupants in the Jaguar, and the remaining three in the Prado escaped with minor injuries.
