Over the past number of decades there has been a huge spring away from soil tillage, knowing that it slices and dices soil fungi as well as releasing organic carbon into the atmosphere, reducing soil organic matter.
However due to a lack of microbial diversity in agricultural soils and soil compaction problems started to arise, such as disease, J-rooting, lack of nutrient uptake and weed pressure.
Then the question arises do we spray and burn or till? This is a very personal question and individual cases need to be assessed.
Come to the YLAD Living Soils Field Day on Thursday September 15 and hear discussions on solutions to these dilemmas.
Being demonstrated at the Field Day will be the Brookfield SuperDrill, a revolutionary tillage and seeding tool with a range of features and options creating the ultimate tool for unmatched versatility.
Don’t miss the demonstration at the YLAD Living Soils Field Day on Moppity Road on September 15 2016.
