It has just got easier for those travelling to Sydney and surrounds on public transport to obtain and top up an Opal card, with the opening of a new Opal retailer at Young.
The Service NSW Centre at Young now stocks Adult and Child/Youth Opal cards, making it more convenient for people travelling within the Opal footprint.
Eligible customers can also apply for a Gold or Concession Opal card at the Young Service NSW centre, with staff able to assist with applications via online or the phone. Gold and Concession Opal cards will then be mailed to their home address.
Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson said it is great news for the local community.
"With paper tickets no longer sold or accepted, Opal is the way to go, so customers need to ensure they have the card in their pocket before they travel in and around Sydney, Newcastle, Bathurst or Wollongong," she said.
"With the opening of this new retailer, obtaining or topping up your Opal has now never been easier."
