
“Good afternoon passengers and welcome aboard flight STM 357. This is Captain Lou and we are thrilled that you have chosen St Mary’s Airlines for your flight around the world. Sit back, relax and enjoy the flight”. So began the Creative and Performing Arts Festival 2016 at St Mary’s, Young.
The audience was taken on an amazing journey around the globe as each class presented cultural items from their chosen country with great creativity, enthusiasm and joyfulness.
The vision for St Mary’s Primary School is to “empower the gifts within” and the Creative and Performing Arts Festival saw that vision in action, giving the children the chance to explore and express themselves through a range of art forms.
The celebration of learning at the end of each term at St Mary’s saw Term 3 concluded with “School as an Art Gallery”. The community enjoyed being swept up in the children’s joyfulness and have many memorable moments to reflect upon after three very successful days..
The festival was a true celebration of the arts, talents, creativity and enthusiasm of the St Mary’s students and teachers!
