Young’s Hospital auxiliary has a new patron, Nancy McGregor who says she is honoured to be appointed to the position.
A member of the Auxiliary since 2000 Nancy said: “The work that this Auxiliary does to maintain the comforts and equipment for patients is outstanding.”
“I became chairperson of the Southern Slopes Health Council when the plans for the new hospital were being drawn up. It was during these years that I realised how antiquated our hospital building and equipment was..
“The support from our town is incredible.”
Auxiliary president Janice Ward said the position of patron is presented to a person who is well regarded in the community who can contribute to promoting the importance of the auxiliary’s work.
“Nancy is well known, she’s well regarded, she’s in a lot of organisations and has worked for health and the Hospital Auxiliary for some time,” Mrs Ward said.
“If we want to know anything about anything health or Hospital Auxiliary wise she’s able to advise us on things like that.”
