Young police and NSW Fire Brigade are continuing investigations into a house fire which completely destroyed a house in Young on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at 9.50pm on Monday in Currawong Street.
Upon arrival the house was fully engulfed in flames, forcing brigade members to use breathing apparatus and hose reals to fight the fire.
Two fire and rescue trucks attended and were able to contain the fire by 10.15pm.
Essential Energy were also called in to isolate the power to the property as police blocked off the road and set up an exclusion zone due to asbestos in the house.
A neighbouring residence received minor heat damage during the fire.
Young’s Acting Inspector, Kristin Marshall, said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined and remains under investigation.
“No one was home at the time but a male did normally reside there,” Acting Inspector, Kristin Marshall said.
Earlier this week the premises remained under a crime scene guard.
