
A new Murrumbidgee Local Health District appointment will focus on providing local services for people with Eating Disorders.
Dr Anita Star has been appointed to the position of Clinical Leader for Eating Disorders.
"The new role will ensure the ongoing development of quality services for people with Eating Disorders across the region,” said Manager Strategic Innovation and Planning for Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Services, Samantha Pearce.
Ms Pearce said Eating Disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and other Non-Specified Eating Disorders affect about four per cent of the population at any one time.
Dr Star will be based in Albury and will work with staff and clients throughout the District.
