“Changing the attitude for future generations.” President of Margaret House, Sue McGregor said this was the take away from the Margaret House White Ribbon event held last Friday night at The Young Junior Rugby Clubhouse.
Sue was happy with the event that attracted 50 people.
The focus of the event surrounded what boys and men see as a ‘traditional’ male and how that image is not who they should be striving to be, but instead changing thoughts on what a man should be in regards to how they treat and see women and girls.
Sue said changing this behavior and thought process was a preventative and important in stamping out domestic violence and violence against women. Guest speaker, Liam Dooley, a White Ribbon ambassador, was in attendance as well as a representative from the local police station. Sue said the event was important in helping young boys today become better men tomorrow.
