Young Society of Artists Inc. Annual Competitive Art Exhibition held over the Cherry Festival weekend was a wonderful success with more than 800 people visiting the exhibition held in the Young Town Hall.
A number of paintings were sold over the four-day exhibition to locals and visitors alike including the acquisition of four paintings by the Hilltops Council as a part of their commitment to support local artists.
The raffle, first prize a painting by local artist Sally Evens, was won by Janis Johnson.
Second prize was won by Bev Lappen.
Third prize was won by Bernie Mullany and fourth was won by Julia Catlin.
The “Members Only” exhibition will open in Burrangong Gallery on December 15 and continue until January 27, 2017.
This exhibition is by local members of the YSA and will include a very diverse collection of works in all mediums.
Artists are invited to summit works in the 2017 Annual Lambing Flat Sculpture, Wood and Big Art Exhibition.
Entry forms will be available from mid- January, with entries due by the 3rd of March.
The 2017 summer program will continue in the New Year with adult and children’s workshops and Burrangong Gallery Exhibitions the information for these will available from the Southern Cross Cinema and posted on YDAC, YSA & the Young Visitors Centre web pages early in 2017.
The Young Society of Artists wish to thank those who have supported their activities throughout 2016 and advise artists that the art room will be closed for the school holidays.
