The team at a local radio station have thrown their support behind CanAssist Young which in turn has provided support for a Young resident currently fighting a battle with breast cancer.
The radio station jumped at the opportunity to give back to the community, and by way of a barbecue were able to raise $375.
Tony’s appreciation for CanAssist Young’s support knows no bounds, which made 2YYY’s fundraising barbecue held on November 19 all the more important to him with his wife’s battle hitting so close to home.
With the help and support of CanAssist Young, Tony’s wife has received fuel vouchers and other assistance to help her with treatment as she battles the disease.
On the morning of Friday, November 2 Tony and Greg Cullen from the 2YYY’s board of directors presented a cheque of $375 to CanAssist Young’s Dorothy McKenzie.
Donges Supa IGA provided the meat for the event and 2YYY are very thankful for their help and support.
CanAssist Young extend their deepest thanks to 2YYY for their work and effort in raising the money that will go to locals fighting their own battles with cancer.
At the conclusion of the presentation Tony assured Dorothy that 2YYY will be raising more money to give to the cause in the future.
