
The Young Showjumping Club will be holding their seventh annual showjumping day this Sunday, December 18.
Held at the Young Pony Club grounds show jumpers from all over the country are expected to descend on Young to compete for over $2000 in prize money.
There will be two rings with a total of 10 events run throughout the day. The two rings will open at 9 am with a diverse program that caters for all levels of riders from beginners all the way through to experienced and skilled jumpers.
Ring one will be judged by Michael Archer and the showjumping course will be designed and built by Charl Archer.
The opening competition in ring one will commence with the McDonalds Family Restaurant 1.05 m class followed by the Hilltops Equine 1.10 – 1.15 m event and the FTS Financial Planners Open 1.15 – 1.20 m competition. The ring will conclude with the Kirkup Racing Open Six Bar and the Giddyup Gags and Bits Junior Six Bar courses which are guaranteed to be exciting entertainment for all spectators as competitors are eliminated with the increasing heights each round until only one rider is left.
Ring two will be sponsored by Conquerer Milling of Cootamundra with the courses designed, built and judged by Peter and Michelle McComb.
The five event ring will begin with a 0.50 m Super Phase event and increasing in height each round with the 1.04 m Super Phase being the last event of the day.

The public are more than welcome to come along and enjoy a great day of showjumping with some of the best horse and rider combinations around the countryside. There will be a canteen and a barbecue will operate on the day. With free entry it makes it a fun and action packed day out for any horse lover big or small.
