The training session is a part of the course required for volunteers and carers of native wildlife with Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.
“In New South Wales no person is allowed to care for native animals without an annual authority to act issued under the licence held by WIRES or another licensed wildlife rehabilitation organisation or by a privately licensed individual.
“WIRES training will now come under the auspices of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This means that WIRES will now be able to provide training that results in qualifications that are nationally recognised and accepted by industry and other educational institutions,” the WIRES website said.
