At the same time as the four rounds of Young Golf Club’s championships the weekly handicap events and a 72 hole handicap event was run over three grades. The eight leading scratch scores in each grade will now proceed to playoff for the match play championship sponsored by Steve Sell and Ian Page.

In the handicap event last Saturday, sponsored by Max Gilbert, Garry Nicolls and John Rolfe, the A grade winner was Mark McCormick from Geoff Walker. In B grade Paul Blizzard won. Darcy Whinam won C grade.
The Sunday handicap event was sponsored by Wayne Hewson, Brian Page and Ken Smith. The A grade winner was Steve May from Jarrod Harding. B grade winner Pat Brodbeck from Gary Anderson. C grade Matt Simmons won from Patrick Fitzgerald. Carmello's Pizzeria was part a sponsor for both days.
The 72 hole handicap event was sponsored by the South West Slopes Credit Union and Nick Bush won A grade from Simon Oakes. In B grade Gary Anderson won from David Martens and Peter Eldridge won from Bob Stone in C grade.

Players are asked to arrange their matches with all first round matches be played by April 2. A draw sheet is in the clubhouse. Report the result of matches to Bryce in the Pro-shop. Matches may be played in conjunction with club events. Highlight of last weekend was Peter Campbell scoring a 'hole in one' on the 13th hole. Former club professional Phil Cartwright attended both days last weekend and it was good to see him looking fit and relaxed.
