Talimalie currently leads the count for Group Nine’s best and fairest award, the Weissel Medal and is rated as the Cherrypickers main play-maker.
Talimalie has been suspended for four games for abusive conduct after being cited following an incident before the first grade game between Young and Junee last Sunday. The charges were dealt with at a special meeting on Thursday night.
Group Nine operations manager Peter Ryan said Talimalie would not be eligible to play until the first round of finals.
Cherrypickers president Robert Bush said Talimalie’s suspension would disrupt the remainder of the first-grade side’s season as they attempt to lock down third place on the ladder before the finals.
“It’s a shame this has happened because Ray was leading the Weissel Medal, but the club accepts the decision and will move forward,” he said.
