A spokesperson for NSW police has warned tradesman to secure and lock up their tools to combat what has become a “daily occurrence”.
The spokesman said from 2016 to 2017, power tools were the most commonly reported stolen item.
“We have had reports of some thieves using portable angle grinders to remove padlocks,” the spokesman said.
Break and enter information sought
Cootamundra LAC Sergeant Paul Colefax said police would like to talk with anyone who has information regarding a break an enter at the Flight Centre in Young last week.
“Our crime scene officers are carrying out inquiries and will follow the leads they have,” he said. “If any member of the public knows anything about these crimes could they please contact the Young police station on 02 6382 8199 or crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
