Murringo local Tricia Mack is running for Hilltops Council to support the local communities, especially villages like her own, with their initiatives and community groups.

The Murringo historian and archivist said she wants to give the community faith and bring back its trust in Council. Mrs Mack wants to help instigate changes to the Council so it can move in the right direction and break the stigma attached to local government.
Up until six years ago when Mrs Mack returned to the area she had spent several years working with many community and industry groups including, the Heart Foundation 1974 – Queen of Hearts Contestant, Jaycee’s (1974-1980) Vic-President, Diaries Director, Toastmistress Secretary and Toastmasters, Balmain Historical Association Secretary, Australian Archivists, Albion Park Bushfire Brigade.
Mrs Mack is also a deep rooted believer in volunteer work having previously volunteered at Marrickville Council, City of Sydney Council, and Sydney Water Board, she was also a Brownie Leader Balmain 1987-1989 and currently the Murringo Community Association, President, Secretary and Treasurer.
“I have also been very involved with what was Leichhardt Council in regards to the historical work I have been undertaking for the past 20 years on Old Balmain Cemetery, research work on the early Alderman, and liaising with Leichhardt Council Alderman and council employees on various historical matters,” she said.
According to Mrs Mack she stands for the environment, community development, communication, public health and safety, essential infrastructure and future planning.
If elected Mrs Mack said she wants to restore general customer service by improving response to correspondence in a more bureaucratic manner and to assist in helping Section 355’s that require Council assistance in understanding their administrative rolls.”
“I look forward to the opportunity to work with the residents of the Hilltops and represent them to the best of my ability,” she said.
